Across the kingdom, a growing number of women in Saudi Arabia have found employment despite the restrictions placed on them by the government. Two years ago, the Harvey Nichols department store in Riyadh employed only 12 Saudi women. The number has since quadrupled, and princess Reema Bint Bandar al-Saud who runs the store plans to hire more women. In addition to opening a nursery for employees’s children, she also provides transportation stipends to women who can’t drive themselves to work. Read more at The New York Times.
